Abstract:
This field study aims to investigate how communication professionals rely on cross-media technology in the creation of journalistic content and the resulting impact on their professional performance. The research seeks to assess the level of knowledge these professionals have regarding this technology, identify the best forms they prioritize in its application, determine the key factors influencing their reliance on cross-media for presenting journalistic content, and analyze the effects arising from this reliance. Furthermore, the study aims to measure the impact of using such technology on their professional performance. Belonging to descriptive research, the study employs a survey method grounded in the theories of media dependence and technology acceptance. It is based on a purposive sample of 40 communication professionals from press institutions that utilize this technology, collected through a survey questionnaire. The data was gathered from June 1, 2024, to September 1, 2024. Among the key findings of the study: the website Masrawy ranked first among news sites, followed by Ad-Dostor in second place, and Al-Watan in third place. The study shows the need of cross-media operators to support roles, as the forefront of which was "graphic designer". These results demonstrate the significant role of cross-media technology in shaping the landscape of journalistic content in Egypt and highlight its influence on the professional practices of communication professionals within the media sector.
