Abstract:
The research is concerned with the study of "The Defining Borders and Criteria of Poetry in the Vision of Ancient and Modern Arab Critics: A Comparative Analytical Study", and the various definitions of poetry by ancient and modern critics have been studied. The research aims to study the " Defining Borders and criteria of poetry in the vision of ancient and modern Arab critics: Comparative Analytical Study", analyzing the definitions of poetry among critics, and exploring the critical criteria for judging poetry. The study relies on the descriptive analytical approaches and the comparative approaches in defining poetry, analyzing the various definitions, and clarifying the most important critical criteria that have had a clear impact in the field of criticism. Through the study, the research reaches several results, including: The development and multiplicity of the concept of poetry from age to age, and this had an impact on the development of literary criticism. Pronunciation and meaning are the basic building blocks for the soundness of poetry, as they are the spirit and body of Arabic poetry.
