Abstract
This research deals with a topic that is considered one of the fundamental pillars in achieving social solidarity in the Islamic society, which is the encouragement of providing food for the poor “feeding the poor”, by tracing some Quranic verses that address the encouragement of feeding the poor. The research aims to study the language of the Holy Quran in these verses at its phonological, morphological, and syntactic levels, and the social meanings it carries, since these meanings are an integral part of the linguistic system. I have used in analyzing the Quranic verses the descriptive method which is based on describing the language and analyzing it at its various levels. Among the most important results reached by the research: the phonological units used in the verses of feeding the poor, with their connotations, contribute to clarifying the effect of the word on the structure, then the effect of the structure on the text, and finally the effect of this text on the human soul and then on society. The sounds, morphological and syntactic structures contribute to highlighting the social meanings carried by the text. The meanings that are characterized by a social nature are of great importance, as they contribute to building a special understanding of the Quranic texts. Feeding the poor is considered one of the most prominent manifestations of faith and is included among the acts of worship, rather it is one of the best of them.
