Abstract:
The study aims to verify a manuscript on the fragrant biography of the Prophet, entitled “Ar-Rawd An-Nadeer fi ma Yattalaq bi Aal Bayt Al-Basheer An-Nazeer,” (Ar-Rawd An-Nadeer Concerning the Family of the Prophet and Warner) by Sheikh Ahmed As-Sujai (d. 1197 AH/1783 AD), in which the author explained verses he composed on the names of his sons,  his wives, and the ruling on using his nickname, peace be upon him, then he added his noble lineage, and the mention of his uncles and aunts. In the conclusion, the author explained the superiority of some prophets over others, and the benefits and advantages of sending prayers upon the Prophet, peace be upon him. The researcher follows the scientific method to verify the manuscripts by relying on three copies of the manuscript, taking one of the copies as the original, copying the text, comparing the copies, revealing the differences, explaining odd terms, and classifying the hadiths. The most important findings refer to the fact that the author mentioned fifty-nine hadiths, twenty-five of which were authentic, as follows: five hadiths agreed upon by the two sheikhs, nine hadiths were reported by al-Bukhari alone, one hadith was reported by Muslim alone, eight of them were deemed authentic by al-Haythami in Majma Az-Zawaed, and there were two hadiths whose chains of transmission were found to be authentic through the study, as they met the conditions of authenticity. Three hadiths were deemed Hasan (Good), and one hadith was deemed Hasan Gharib (Good-singular) by At-Tirmizi in this regard. Twenty-seven hadiths were deemed weak, and three hadiths were left non- verified by Al-Hakim and Az-Zahabi. Furthermore, the author was able to access texts from lost books, as the author relied on manuscripts and lost books to attribute many of the statements, which gives this book great importance.
