Abstract:
This research tackles the use of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in targeted news websites and its impact on editorial policy. The research also aims to uncover the opinions of the elite regarding their adoption and use of AI technologies in their academic and professional work in light of the Diffusion of Innovations theory. The study was conducted on a sample of 20 individuals using questionnaires to measure their utilization of these technologies at work. The study found a variation in the sample's knowledge of AI technologies. The sample was divided into two groups: academics who had only theoretical knowledge of AI, and professionals who showed mixed awareness of the technology—some had used it, while others were not familiar with it at all. The study concluded that the use of these technologies depends on the individual’s effort, and it has not been adopted by institutions as an organizational tool to aid their development. The study also found that the use of AI technologies by academics and professional journalists requires both knowledge and practice, along with an understanding of their assigned tasks, in order to effectively utilize these tools. Deep commitment from responsible authorities and collaborative efforts are required to establish regulations governing the use of AI technologies by journalists and academics in their work.
