Economic Information Warfare and Its Evaluation from an Islamic Ethical Perspective Fatema Mohammad Rashed Ali, Department of Public Law, Faculty of Islamic and Arab Studies for Female Students, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt E-mail: fatma.rashed@azhar.edu.eg Abstract: This research aims to clarify the nature, goals, and effects of economic information warfare, highlighting its dangers in terms of impacting the security and economies of nations. It demonstrates that the economic and financial sectors are the most affected by cyberattacks and emphasizes the need for nations to protect their economic cyberspace and understand the strategies and tactics of economic hackers. Finally, the study analyzes the negative impacts of economic information warfare on national economies through an Islamic ethical perspective. The research follows the deductive approach to precisely define economic information warfare, outlining its goals and effects, and to evaluate it from a Sharia-based ethical viewpoint. It also utilizes the inductive and inferential approach to investigate the forms and applications of economic information warfare in reality. The study's most important finding is the demonstration of the severe risks posed by economic information warfare, which can lead to mass displacement, famine, riots, regime change, trade collapse, and depletion of foreign currency reserves as well as the bankruptcy of sovereign economies within a few days among other impacts. The study underscores the necessity for countries to be ready to defend their cybersecurity to protect their economies.
