Abstract:
Building rational awareness in young people is among the most vital issues. Children's stories play an essential role in this endeavor, with rhetorical techniques being one of the most prominent tools to achieve this goal. The Prince of Poets (poet laureate), Ahmed Shawqi, presented a pioneering and distinguished experience in this field, gaining success and fame, influencing successive generations, and setting an example for many writers. These are the reasons behind choosing this topic. The research, which relied on both descriptive and deductive methods, is aimed to uncover the implications of rhetorical techniques, their use in conveying meanings and ideas, stimulating minds, and affecting emotions to build rational awareness. Here are some of the main finding: Shawqi maintained the eloquence of his expressions, the strength of their impact, and their precise indication of meaning, without straying far from commonly used language that children could understand. The figurative imagery helped the audience visualize abstract meanings vividly and dynamically. Among the most prominent rhetorical devices that played a role in the study were puns, inversion, and chiasmus, which aided in uncovering meaning and achieving the intended goal.
