Attributes of the Servants of the Most Merciful Contained in Surat Al-Furqan: A Linguistic Study

Abstract:
Surat Al-Furqan concluded by explaining the good moral qualities enjoyed by the servants of Allah, the Most Merciful, by which they received their beautiful description as the servants of the Most Merciful. This research studies the qualities of the servants of the Most Merciful based on the syntactic and morphological information related to the qualities referred to in the Qur'anic verses. It is noticeable that such verses undergo variation according to the ten established recitations of the Qur’an. To study the differences among the recitations (ways of reading), the inductive and descriptive analytical approaches have been used to collect the data of these qualities. Then, the data has been studied and interpreted in detail from a linguistic perspective. To achieve this, references on the Arabic language and sciences of the Holy Qur'an including books on recitation of the Qur’an, parsing, and exegeses have been consulted to clarify the syntactic and morphological connotation of each recitation.
