Abstract:
Good morals are the foundation of the true Islamic religion, for religion consists in good treatment, and this is confirmed by the Prophet’s hadiths. Therefore, the idea of this research is aimed at explaining the importance of the Arabic language in establishing the ethics of dealing with one’s neighbor through studying the authentic hadiths regarding the rights of one’s neighbor in  an applied study in the light of sociolinguistics. Language is nothing but the product of a society’s need for it to achieve communication and understanding among its members. The research has adhered to the descriptive approach - with its tools of statistics and analysis - where the hadiths contained in Sahih Al-Bukhari about dealing with one’s neighbor have been collected and then analyzed. The research is organized into an introduction, a preface, two sections, and a conclusion. The research reveals the importance of studying the language of Prophetic discourse in light of sociolinguistics, and the effect of the phonetic, morphological, and syntactic structures used in hadiths about dealing with one’s neighbor in establishing the neighborly relationship. The research also clarifies the role of the linguistic features of the Prophet’s talk about the neighbor, which is meant to captivate the mind, attract the recipient's attention, and subsequently gain their compliance and acceptance.
