The research aims to clarify the relationship between language and society through a study of Surat Al-Fatihah, analyzing it in light of sociolinguistics, a branch of applied linguistics. Language consists of sounds combined into words, forming sentences through which people express their thoughts. It is a living entity and a social phenomenon, shaped by society and evolving with its development or decline. Language and society influence each other. The study follows a descriptive method based on statistical analysis and detailed examination, analyzing the verses of the Surah on phonetic, morphological, syntactic, and semantic levels. The research led to several findings, including that the Holy Qur'an is miraculous in its sound, words, and meaning. This miracle impacts both individuals and society, as sociolinguistics illustrates how linguistic variations among people arise from social variables like ethnicity, religion, gender, cultural level, social status, and age. Moreover, sociolinguistics concerns itself with various means of communication and seeks to uncover the social standards that shape an individual’s linguistic behavior within society. Surat Al-Fatihah introduces Muslims to the concepts of beginning with “Bismillah” and praising Allah, training Muslims to consider the well-being of society in their prayers and reliance on Allah.
