This research aims to shed light on an important issue, which is the ethics of dealing with medical waste. The research clarifies the concept of medical waste, its types, sources, and risks, especially to health care workers, and the ruling on treating it in Islamic Sharia. It also addresses methods of preventing the dangers of medical waste and points out the role of rational awareness in reducing its harm by disposing of it in a proper manner. The research touches on some comparative jurisprudential issues related to the rulings on treating medical waste. The research relies on the inductive, analytical, comparative approach in Islamic jurisprudence; it cites evidence of jurists, a statement of the preponderant opinion, and an explanation of the reason for the preponderance. One of the most important findings is that medical waste poses a danger to all components of the environment, especially with the lack of awareness in dealing with it. It is necessary to adhere to the ethical and legal charter in dealing with medical waste, especially dead fetuses and amputated organs of the human body. Therefore, the researcher recommends awareness campaigns to reduce harmful medical waste, and to educate health care workers on how to deal with medical waste in terms of classification, storage, appropriate primary and final treatment, and the dangers that may result from it.
