It explains the concept of moral principles, the fundamentals on which moral principles are based, and the challenges facing the application of moral principles in contemporary life, then it clarifies the close relationship between the noble objectives of Sharia and moral principles and their levels and divisions. It also explains the relationship of moral principles to fundamental rules by studying the Precaution Rule and explaining the contemporary jurisprudential implications of considering moral principles and virtues in achieving the goals of Sharia through the Precaution Rule. The phenomenon of defamation and spreading rumors through modern social media, “the Internet” has been tackled. The analytical approach has been used and the data has been examined and studied to reach the scholars’ approach to determining the moral principles and their relationship to the principles and objectives of Sharia. The most important results include the following: the existence of a close and unbroken relationship between the fundamentals of jurisprudence and the objectives of Sharia and moral principles; moral principles extend to include every time and place, and this is agreed upon legally and customarily; morals have varying levels–– some are obligatory, some are necessary, and some are commendable; everything that leads to a person’s humiliation and loss of dignity, be it ridicule or bullying, is rejected by law and custom.
