Abstract:
The study aims to demonstrate the agreement of divine laws on the sanctity of human life and the prohibition of assaulting it. In this regard, Allah Almighty says: “For this reason We decreed for the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed all of mankind. If He saves it, it is as if He saved the life of all mankind” (Qur’an, 5:32). One of the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament says, “You shall not kill” (Exodus, 20: 13). The prohibition of killing is also emphasized in the New Testament, in the words of Christ (pbuh), “You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘You shall not kill, and whoever kills will be liable to judgment’” (Mathew, 5: 21). The inductive method has been used to examine sources and references related to the research topic, benefiting from the issues related to the study, collecting them, and reassembling them in a coherent scientific manner. The descriptive analytical approach has been followed in describing and analyzing the research topics, and the objective approach has been used to present the research issues without exaggeration or indifference. One of the most important findings of the research is that assaulting the human soul and violating its sanctity is a departure from everything agreed upon by heavenly laws.
