Abstract:
This research discusses the importance of good role models and their impact on building moral awareness from the perspective of the Holy Qur’an through a model that establishes in society the good morals enjoined upon us by Islam. The presence of a role model is also one of the most influential and successful means of preparation and formation of an individual psychologically, socially, culturally, and morally. It is a major factor in a person’s righteousness and integrity, and the righteousness of the society as a whole. The research aims to explain that parents are the first role models for children, and to highlight that the features included in Luqman’s commandments to his son can be a beacon for parents and educators to follow. They can have an impact on building moral awareness for the advancement of society. The analytical, descriptive, and deductive approaches have been followed in studying Luqman’s commandments and demonstrating their impact on building moral awareness. One of the most important results is that Luqman’s commandments guarantee happiness in this world and the hereafter for whoever is aware of them and applies them to his life. They include matters of belief, worship, and morals, as well as matters related to the heart, limbs, and tongue. They can help a person to improve their relationship with their Lord, parents, themselves, and other people.
