Abstract:
The research aims to identify the role that blind imitation plays in the spread of moral deviations in human societies, by examining the warnings, guidance and directives contained in the verses of the Holy Qur’an. The research seeks to answer a number of questions on this topic, including: What is the role of blind imitation in directing some individuals to moral deviations? How can this happen? What are the ways to confront it? In this research, the inductive method has been used in order to trace what is stated in the Holy Qur’an about blind imitation and its various dangers, as well as the analytical approach that helps return every behavior to its origin, in addition to the deductive approach in an attempt to extract ways of treatment. The research confirms that blind imitation leads the imitators to a number of moral deviations, including murder, committing immoral acts, cheating on the scales, heavy use of makeup and indecency, and others. The research also identifies ways to prevent and confront these deviations, and develop effective treatment for them, by relying on knowledge, awareness, and having an independent identity through which one can distinguish between right and wrong, and falsehood and truth. The research has reached a number of conclusions, including that blind imitation is one of the most dangerous religious and social diseases and that its most important causes are the absence of a good role model, the disruption of the mind and thought, and having a weak personality.
