Abstract:
The research aimed to explain the moral aspect of the life of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi, and to clarify his impact on Muslims. In the introduction, ethics are defined as presented by Islamic jurists, and examples from the Quran and Sunnah that urge good character are cited. Then, Sheikh Muhammad Metwali Al-Shaarawi’s own philosophical and eloquent definition of ethics is included, highlighting that good character is a constant value that does not change. In the first section, the Sheikh’s virtuous life story is reviewed, covering his childhood, academic, and professional life. The second section focuses on his Islamic character, beginning from his early upbringing and showing his obedience to his father. The third section, which is the most significant, highlights his ethics as a scholar. The Sheikh was skillful in conveying the truth without hypocrisy and exhibited self-control, humbling himself for the sake of Allah. The fourth section discusses his ethics during his tenure as a minister. Finally, the fifth section covers his conduct with people, whether they were ordinary individuals, intellectuals, or rulers. His behavior reflected a balanced Islamic personality, adorned with Islamic ethics, dignity, and self-respect. May Allah have mercy on him. The conclusion summarizes the main findings and provides recommendations. Among the results of the research is how Imam Al-Shaarawi likened the good Islamic morals settled in the soul to material things to bring the meaning closer together.
