Abstract:
A look at the relationship between the Arabs and their language, in the past, reveals how much they sincerely loved, cherished and belonged to it. In our legacy, there are many narratives that prove that the Arabs, men and women, loved their language and cherished it. The manifestations of belonging to Arabic are diverse, including: pride in dialects, unification of the Arabic language in what is known as Standard Arabic, interest in eloquence while maintaining meaning, focus on poetry and poets, placing them in a prestigious position, nurturing children to love and master the language, linking the Arabic language with Islam, linking it with the integrity of Islamic creed, working on its integrity from linguistic distortion, encouraging learning and teaching it, quoting from both poetry and prose to interpret the Quran, arabicizing collections, and sparing no effort to preserve them. This research follows a descriptive approach based on some historical narratives and events related to the research topic. Some of the most important results are: we still need to uncover the infancy of the Arabic language to understand its nature, its identity, and its most important characteristics in that stage; when the speakers of Arabic adhered to it sincerely, its status and theirs rose; various reasons enabled the Arabic language to cope with the significant civilization and new sciences that emerged after Islam, including belonging to the Arabic language; belonging to religion, language, or homeland is a virtue of noble Islamic ethics that we should adhere to and preserve.
