Abstract:
Egypt launched a national strategy to empower Egyptian women in line with both the sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030. Considering that Egypt is one of the countries that is making rapid progress towards human development, and that females constitute half of society, it is necessary to shed light on the extent of their contribution in all different fields. Females constituted 48.4% of the total population of Egypt in 2017. There is a close connection between the reality of women’s participation at work, their access to an advanced educational level, and the requirements for achieving development on the one hand and the impact of this on building rational awareness on the other hand. The research relied on the descriptive and the analytical approaches, using spatial analysis methods and geographic information systems. The research showed the presence of three spatial groups, homogeneous in terms of the characteristics that affect the empowerment of Egyptian women regarding the economic and social aspects. It also showed the strong relationship between women's empowerment and the extent of their rational awareness.
