Abstract:
Sharik Ibn Abd Allah Ibn Abi Nimr is a narrator whose authenticity has been a subject of disagreement among scholars. Both Imam Al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim included Abi Nimr narrations in their Sahih. This research aims to present the opinions of scholars regarding Sharik and study the narrations attributed to him in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, to extract the methodology applied by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in dealing with his narrations. The research plan consists of an introduction and two main sections. The first section provides a theoretical overview, including a biography of Sharik and a presentation of the critics' opinions regarding his credibility. The second section focuses on the study of Sharik’s narrations found in Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, or either of them. The research concludes that Sharik Ibn Abd Allah Ibn Abi Nimr is one of the narrators who is criticized, however, that does not invalidate the use of his narrations., as both Al-Bukhari and Muslim have used his narrations in their Sahihs. They have included a total of twelve hadiths by him, six of which are common, while Al-Bukhari exclusively included two hadiths and Muslim included four others. Additionally, the research finds that these hadiths narrated on Sharik’s behalf have other sources on the authority of another companion or hadith’s narrator., except for a few.
