The Philosophy of Morality among the New Atheists A Critical Study. Ahmed Gamal Ahmed Ismail Department of Fundamentals of Religion, Doctrine and Philosophy, Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies Boys Branch, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. E-mail: ahmedismail.4@azhar.edu.eg Abstract: The study aims to criticize the atheistic perception of the ethical issue, and to deeply enroot and stabilize religious moral values; with the aim of assessing human behavior and adjusting its course back to the right path established by the Islamic religion. The critical approach is used to address this topic, and to explore its critical points and issues, the most important of which are:The new atheists have shown a real inability to answer the existential question of morality despite their many attempts, and they have been subjected to a barrage of irony and contempt; as a result of the lowly, rude manner because of which their peers described them as false sophists. The gravity of the new atheism theory lies in the belief in two things: first, that God is an illusion. Second, science alone can answer ethical questions. On the basis of these two principles, their morality has become mere scientific facts dictated by natural laws, or by organic or social necessities, although it is not possible to present a philosophical view of the moral aspect under the umbrella of this material vision. Research on this aspect is purely metaphysician and goes beyond the material framework, the human beings or human sciences are not able to deal with; therefore, the atheistic attempt to establish objective and absolute ethics has failed. According to new atheists, ethics have been confined to the pursuit of self-pleasure and the satisfaction of freaks without distinguishing between the desires of individuals or group. The result is a pessimistic worried human being who believes in the denial of everything for the sake of nothing.
