Abstract

This research examines the vocabulary used in the chapter of "Al-Ghani" (Wealth) in three books: "Al-Alfaz" by Ibn Al-Sakkit, "Jawahir Al-Alfaz" by Ibn Qudamah, and "Matakhayyar Al-Alfaz" by Ibn Fares. It is a comparative study that discusses the importance of the topic, the reasons for choosing it, the methodology followed in these books, and the objectives of the comparison. It also briefly discusses thematic dictionaries and the theory of semantic fields.

The research sheds light on the authors of the three books and describes the chapter "Al-Ghani" in each book in terms of vocabulary and approach. It then proceeds to compare the three books in this chapter, which is the central focus of the research and its core. The linguistic phenomena related to the chapter are also addressed. The research consists of a section that talks about the authors of the three books and their works, a section dedicated to the chapter "Al-Ghani" in the books "Al-Alfaz," "Jawahir Al-Alfaz," and "Matakhayyar Al-Alfaz," providing descriptions and comparisons. Another section discusses the linguistic phenomena related to the chapter "Al-Ghani." The research begins with an introduction and a preface, and concludes with a conclusion that presents the most important findings, including the recognition by our ancient scholars of the importance of context and its role in thematic dictionaries. It also emphasizes the understanding of the thoughts and methodologies of each of these scholars by examining the characteristics that distinguish their respective books in this genre of dictionaries.
