Abstract

Abstract: The study aimed to identify the features of national identity discourse in press websites (Al-Ahram - Al-Wafd - Al-Youm 7) on the anniversary of the October 6 War to come up with general perceptions about it, in the period from 10/1/2023 to 10/30/2023 AD, using a qualitative analysis form to collect data, And I concluded
- The Egyptian solidarity of efforts thesis comes first among the theses addressed in the press discourse on the websites of the study sample, at a rate of 42.33%, followed in the ranking by the thesis of the inevitability of war, at a rate of 29.44%, and in last place was the thesis of international reactions, at a rate of 28.22% at the overall level of the discourse.
- Intensifying the paths of logical proof that are linked to national identity in the discourse of the sites sampled in the study, which reached a rate of 54.35% compared to 45.64% for the paths of illogical proof.
The dominance of political frames in the list of frames that were used in the discourse of the sites sampled in the study regarding national identity reached 23.88%, followed by historical frames at 18.65%, then economic frames at 16.41% at the overall level of discourse.
- The Israeli active forces came at the forefront of the active forces in the discourse with a percentage of 49.78%, followed by the Egyptian active forces with a percentage of 35.54%,
