Abstract:
This research aims to clarify the status of the human conscience in Islamic ethics and its application in two cases (peace and war), in terms of human behavior and moral motives that refine the soul, take it to tranquility, reassurance, vigilance from its inattention, and get it back to its proper nature. The study also aims to emphasize that the human conscience is the judge of our actions in terms of adherence to virtues and avoidance of vices. The study tries to show the greatness of the human conscience as the honest advisor for every behavior that man does towards himself, his community or his Creator. It is a court that does not need witnesses or judges, because its provisions stem from the heart. The nature of the research requires adopting the applied approach, and the study resultes in several findings, all of which revolve around the tolerance of Islam with the other, whether in peace or in war, because the human conscience is a common denominator among human species, regardless of belief. Islam has legislated a lot of legislations that spread peace in society, thus leads to the stability of society when moral motives and human behaviors are practically applied. Consequently, the nations develop and Islam reches utmost glory and spreads throughout the world. The importance of conscience appears because it is the direct motive for all good deeds.
