Abstract:
The study aims to reveal the the argumentative devices used in Islamic media dialogue with deviant Muslims. It aims to  know how Ibn Abbas employs these argumentative elements in the dialogue,  to reveal the  implications of using these elements on Dawah (Islamic preaching), and to clarify how to apply this practical model on the media discourse and contemporary Islamic preaching .The study uses the Pragma-dialectical Approach and the deductive approach and it relies on qualitative analysis of discourse, specifically the argumerntaive analysis of discourse. The study yields a number of findings, most importantly of which is that Ibn Abbas used complementary argumentative approach at both the vertical and horizontal levels. While the argumentative conjunctive devices worked to intensify the arguments and their coherence and interconnectedness at the horizontal level, the argumentative hierarchy intensified the accumulation of arguments at the vertical level thus producing a strong tightly interwoven valid argument. The most important rhetorical strategies used include:  repetition, refutation, gradualism, intimidation, and emotions  stirring. One of the most important implications as regards Dawah is that the preacher should be keen on communicating his message, and working  quickly to  correct the wronged concepts; so that they are not exaggerated or turn into an adopted  disgraceful behavior   badly influencing  the Muslim community. Pity and concern for the interest of the other party in dialogue and the preservation of his religion , self and his safety  is required. If this is so in the dialogue with the deviants of non-Muslim, it is more appropriate and obligatory in the dialogue with the deviant Muslims
