Email: essam.aid1974@gmail.com Abstract: There is a disagreement among scholars regarding the number of the names of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him. However, they have agreed upon two names: Muhammad and Ahmad. This study clarifies the syntactic and morphological aspects of these two significant names mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. The morphological composition and , grammatical structure of these two names in the Qur’anic context is presented in detail, taking into account their connotations in the Quranic context. The researcher benefited from what was written by old and modern scholars in this field. This study contains a preface, main body, and a conclusion. The preface contains the topic of the study, its importance, questions related to the topic, review of related literature, the plan adopted, the objectives of this research, and its methodology. The main body discusses the names of Prophet mentioned in the Holy Qur’an with a focus on their morphological and syntactic structures. The morphological structure, grammatical composition, the Eraab positions (inflections) , and connotations of the two names (Muhammad) and (Ahmad) are also presented along with the Qur’anic verses and the context in which they occur. The conclusions from this study state that only two names of the Prophet are mentioned in the Qur’an and both of them are used as proper nouns and as attributes. Other names are based on arbitrariness, divergence, and exaggeration.
