Abstract:
In this study, the researcher wants to highlight the efforts of Tahir bin Ashour in refuting Mutazilah’s allegations as regards prophethood and revelation- based facts. The Imam, who belongs to the Asharite school, produced some texts to refute Mutazilah’s Allegations in the points they have disagreed with Ahl As-Sunnah (followers of Sunnah) such as the sending of messengers, the miracles of the Quran, intercession, heaven and hell. The Book of At-Tahrir wa At-Tanweer contained various types of sciences and arts, including language, jurisprudence, judgments, poetry and literature, which were a resource and source for researchers and writers. The researcher followed the historical analytical approach, which tracks the views of Imam Tahir Bin Ashour in his refutation of Mutazilah’s allegations regarding prophethood and revelation-based facts, with as good a presentation and statement as possible, and these views were all placed under the scope of presentation and analysis, the critical approach was, as well, sometimes applied.  One of the most important findings of this research is that Imam Tahir bin Ashour is one of the great renovators of the twentieth century. His book was not limited to (Tafsir) interpretation, but dealt with theology, prophethood and revelation-based facts. Ibn Ashour’s refutation for Mutazilah’s opinions did not lead him to consider them disbelievers because of his intellectual moderation. There is a need for scholars to respond to sects and doctrines that deviate from the true religion.
