Abstract:
The present study aims to investigate the meaning of ‘al-munasabat’, its importance and how Imam Abu Al-Saud and Dr. Khafaji are concerned with it. It compares between ‘al-munasabat’ and its aspects as mentioned by each Imam in their interpretation of Surat Ar-Ra’d (Thunder Surah). It adopts an analytical comparative approach. It shows that both of the Imams show great interest in the science of ‘al-munasabat’, but both of them approach it differently. Imam Abu Al-Saud employs it to discover the secrets of eloquence of the Holy Quran and the inimitability of the Quran, whereas, Dr Khafaji uses it not only to investigate the rhetorical meaning behind the arrangement of verses or to discover the eloquence of Holy Quran, but also to connect the verses of The Holy Quran to the contemporary issues. In addition, the study shows their agreement on the use of multiple formulas for the science of ‘al-munasabat’ and on the multiplicity of types of ‘al-munasabat’ and its different types. They also agree on some of ‘al-munasabat’ and one of them may mention one of ‘al-munasabat’ in a different place.
