الملخص:
هذه الدراسة محاولة لإعادة النظر في باب مشهور من أبواب علم العروض، هو باب "العلل الجارية مجرى الزحاف"، وذلک لتقديم تصور جديد منضبط له. وتهدف الدراسة إلى تحرير مشکلات هذا الباب وإعادة تقديم مکوّناته من خلال البحث فيما تحتمله من وجوه التفسير والتعليل، للخروج بتصور علمي مقبول خالٍ من الإشکال. وقد اتخذ البحث منهجًا تحليليا نقديا لفحص مشروعية وجود هذا الباب أصلًا في الدرس العروضي وإشکالاته العلمية المتنوعة وصولا إلى إعادة تفسير مفرداته وتخريج شواهدها بما ينأى بها عمّا ارتبط بها تاريخيا من قلقٍ علمي وتصنيفي. وقد انتهى البحث إلى جملة من النتائج من أهمها: تعديل تسمية الباب، وفک ارتباط مکوّناته، ورصد ثمانية وجوه لتفسير مفردات الباب وتخريج شواهدها. وقد تمّ هذا کله من خلال مبحثين تقدّمهما تمهيد وتلتهما خاتمة بأهم نتائج الدراسة وثبتٌ بأهم ما اعتمدت عليه من المصادر والمراجع.

Abstract
This study attempts to re-examine a well-known area in prosody which is “al-‘illal resembling metrical deviation” to provide a new and a proper perspective.
It aims to explore the issues of this area and to re-present its elements. This is achieved through investigating all interpretations and explanations to reach a valid scholarly perspective that is problem-free.
The present study adopts a critical analytical approach to examine the validity of including “al-‘illal resembling metrical deviation” in the study of prosody. It also examines the various academic controversies to reach a re-interpretation of its terms and a combination of citations that keep away historical associations of academic and taxonomic tension.
The study arrives at a group of conclusions, most important of which include: renaming the area of research, disengaging its elements, observing eight aspects of interpreting its terms and extracting its citations.
The study consists of an introduction, two sections, and a conclusion including the most important findings. Then all works cited are referred to.
